Why talks work in this room.

Wooden floors, curtains and a warm interior absorb sound instead of bouncing it around, so a speaker is understood without amplification. Twenty chairs in rows fill the room without crowding it. For screenings the curtains cut the daylight, and a projector is set up on request.

Usually not. The acoustics are warm and the room is small enough that a speaker carries without amplification.
